Altor of Down
Altor is a 1991 Moody 44. I bought Altor in late 2017 from a lovely couple who had owned her since she was three years old. She was based in Bangor, Northern Ireland where she spent many years cruising around the Irish Sea and the West Coast of Scotland.

She was loved by her owners but the sad day came for them to hang up their sailing boots and it was at this point that I took on this classically styled middle aged woman who needed a nip here, a tuck there, a healthy amount of tender loving care and some words of encouragement. Much like many men before me I have previously sought feisty, complicated, high maintenance models built for speed rather than comfort but experience has changed me. A desire for a more reliable, comfortable companion with far fewer wayward tendencies brought us together and we are very happy.

I don't care what people say. She doesn't have carbon fibre, she doesn't have space race technology construction, she is buxom and curvy but she wears her years well. She is quietly confident, delivers a sweet and predictable ride and she's mine. We have an agreement. I will take care of her and she will take care of us.

Oh, and she's full of wood and I'm always happy to have wood......
